Awilco Offshore ASA
An oil service company involved in drilling and accommodation services
Awilco Offshore was incorporated in January 2005. In February 2005, the company acquired all offshore rig assets of Awilco AS (a wholly-owned company in the Anders Wilhelmsen Group), and as part of the transaction NOK 1,000 mill was raised in new equity at NOK 20 per share through a private placement. Awilco Offshore was listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange on May 11th 2005, and in connection with the listing another three million new shares were issued at a subscription price of NOK 22.
During the second quarter Awilco Offshore and Sinvest entered into an agreement to establish a jointly owned company, Premium Drilling, for commercial and operational management of its fleet of jack-up drilling rigs. The company is well established and key personnel are in place.
In August 2005, Awilco Offshore acquired shares in Petrojack ASA, and has together with Sinvest agreed to cooperate on the purchase in Petrojack. Awilco Offshore owns approximately 18.5 % of the shares, and together with Sinvest approximately 36%.
In December 2005, Awilco Offshore entered into agreements to acquire a substantial part of the shares in OffRig Drilling ASA (formerly Offshore Rig Services ASA). The ownership increased through 2006 from 39.8 % in the beginning of the year, to 89.4 % at December 31, 2006. In January 2007, a compulsory acquisition of the remaining outstanding shares was initiated, resulting in OFRD becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Awilco Offshore.
Awilco Offshore has today four jack-up drilling rigs and two accommodation units in operation, and further four jack-up drilling rigs and three semi submersible drilling rigs under construction at yards in Singapore and China. The scheduled deliveries for the rigs under construction are from 2007 through 2009. In addition, Awilco Offshore has two remaining options for the construction of semi submersible drilling rigs. |
